5 Budget-Friendly Home Decor Ideas for Spring

ADDING A FEW SIMPLE TOUCHES CAN EASILY REFRESH YOU HOME DECOR FOR SPRING.

I know I’m usually here to talk about crochet, but home dΓ©cor is a huge passion of mine.Β  I actually wanted to be a interior designer when I was growing up.Β  So, when I was approached by Redfin.com to offer a tip for their post on spring dΓ©cor, I jumped at the chance.Β  The article is chocked full of great ideas to give your home a little spring pick me up.Β  You can read the article here: Β Simple Spring Home DΓ©cor Ideas.

With that, it got me thinking of other ways to give my home a quick injection of spring.Β Β We are looking to move in the next year, so I’m not looking to change anything major.Β  While I would LOVE new couches, that will just have to wait for now.Β  So instead of changing anything major, I want to change small things that can make a big impact.Β Β

If your home could also use a little dose of spring, one of the ideas below might be just what you’re looking for.

1. CHANGE YOUR DECORATIVE PILLOWS

My favorite way to give my home an instant refresh it to change my pillows.Β Β Pillow covers are a great way to reuse the pillows you already have and can easily be removed for washing, which is great if you have little kiddos with sticky hands.Β Β

You can find pillow covers in every size, colors, and pattern.Β  If you’re crafty why not make your own!Β

I decided to make these faux leather covers as my pillow refresh for this spring. I will have a tutorial for you soon so you can make your own!Β

What I also love about pillows covers is, when fall rolls around and I want to change to fall colors, I can easily fold the covers and store away until I want to use them again.Β No need to take up valuable storage space with bulky pillows for each season.

2. ADD SOME LIFE IF YOUR DECOR WITH PLANTS

I can’t say this enough…PLANTS, PLANTS, PANTS are one of the best ways to add some life (literally) to your home dΓ©cor.Β  While fake plants have come a long way in the looks department, I still don’t think they can beat a real plant.Β Β

If you’ve had a tendency to kill plants in the past, don’t fret, there is a plant out there for you.Β  Look at the light conditions of where you want to put your plant and pick a plant that matches that light condition.Β  So many people pick a plant for the looks without thinking what the plant actually requires.

If you’re just starting your plant journey, pick a plant that is pretty fool proof, like the Snake Plant.Β  They don’t need a ton of light and are very forgiving if you forget to water them.

3. GIVE YOUR FRONT PORCH A QUICK GLOW-UP

After a long winter of wet, snowy, muddy shoes, my doormat always looks a little worse for wear.Β  It doesn’t help that the cat thinks it’s a scratching pad.Β  LOLΒ

To give your front porch a quick refresh, replace your old doormat with a new one in a fun color or pattern.Β  Make a coir mat with a fun saying that’s personalized to your family or try layering mats for a fresh look.

IKEA has coir mats for super cheap or check out the mats from Amazon below.Β  Plus, Joann and Michael’s always have cute doormats for each season. Don’t forget to use a coupon for extra savings!

Next add a simple spring wreath or a pot of flowers for a quick outdoor refresh.

4. GIVE YOU BED A REFRESH WITH NEW SHEETS

I love nothing more at the end of a long day then crawling into bed on a fresh pair of sheets.Β Β

Give you bed a little spring love by buying a new sheet set.Β  You don’t have to break the bank either, places like Ross and TJ Maxx have great sheet sets that don’t cost an arm and a leg.

If you usually have darker sheets, try a nice bright white or maybe try a patterned sheet if you usually go with a solid.Β  Switch things up from the normal to give your bed a fresh look.

5. BUY SOME FRESH FLOWERS

The easiest and probably cheapest way to add a touch of spring into your home is with a nice vase of fresh flowers.

The next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up a bouquet of fresh flowers.Β  The pop of color and smell can instantly give your mood a boost and remind you that even though it might not look like spring just yet, it’s just around the corner.
