The weather has been warm and sunny the last few days and I can finally see the light at the end of the winter tunnel.Β Spring officially started yesterday, and I couldnβt be happier.Β Now that spring is finally here, Iβve started making quite a few projects that involve flowers.Β For one of those upcoming projects, I needed some simple, relatively flat flowers so I made these super easy five-petaled flowers.
These cute little flowers are made with a magic ring.Β All the stitches are working into the ring and then the center is pulled tight to close the hole.Β They take hardly any yarn and are great for small amounts you have left over from other projects.
I usually make mine with worsted weight yarn (as thatβs what I have most of) but almost any weight will do.Β I have made them with anywhere from a C hook to a K.Β As usual, larger the hook or yarn weight the bigger the flower and vice-versa.Β With a K hook and worsted weight yarn, I get approximately a 1β³ to 1 1/4β³ flower so these are on the smaller side.Β Once your flower is complete you can add a little pizzazz to the centers with a bead, pearl, gem, button or a French knot.Β There are so many options!

EASY FIVE-PETALED CROCHET FLOWER
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- 1 1/2-2 yds. of Yarn
- Desired Size of Crochet Hook
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
- Bead, Gem, or Contrasting Yarn for Adorning Yarn Center (optional)
ABBREVIATIONS:
- CH = Chain
- DC = Double Crochet
- SLst= Slip Stitch
Magic Ring: [CH 2; DC; DC; SLst]; repeat till you have five petals. On the last petal, complete the SLst; cut the yarn; pull through the loop and tighten down.
Now take the middle tail and pull the ring closed. Weave the tail around the ring at least once and pull tight. Take the other tail and do the same but in the opposite direction then cut the tails. You have now completed your cute flower.
You can adore the middle of your flower with a bead, gem, button, or (my go-to) a French knot. If you donβt know how to do a French knot there are great embroidery tutorials available online.
These little flowers can be used in so many ways, let your imagination run wild.Β If you use them in a project, I would love to see.Β Post on Instagram and tag me or use #chain8designs so I can see!Β I get such a kick out of seeing everyoneβs versions of my patterns.Β Donβt forget to subscribe to the blog to be notified as soon as the pattern featuring these cute little flowers is available.Β I hope everyone enjoys the start of spring and till next timeβ¦HAPPY HOOKING!
